Most of us in the States that have seen First Kiss have seen the UPN version, since, as you know, ABC Family doens't air the episode at all given the content of the episode. There's an important scene that is missing from the dialogue where Tony and Angela are in the kitchen, the morning after, discussing what happened. This is right after the part where Tony has cleared up for Angela that they didn't sleep together, all that happened was they kissed (who kissed whom was still undetermined :P ). If you read the episode transcript of the UPN version, the first line is included then it cuts into later in the conversation.
Angela: Tony, if we both got so carried away, how come you...(beat)...
Tony: I left?
Angela: I guess you must have had an awful lot to drink...
Tony: Yeah, yeah, I did, but you know, carrying your body upstairs sort of sobered me up!
Angela: (still searching for a reason why he left) Uh, I guess you had a pretty bad headache.
Tony: No, that came later, what a beaute...
Angela: (long beat) (Angela finally vocalizes her real fear) I guess I looked kinda bad.
Tony: Oh no!! You looked really (he was about to say great)...not bad
Angela: I wasn't fishing or anything Tony...
Tony: On no, I know that, I know that, it's me here! It's just that...I mean, if anything ever did happen between us...I wouldn't want to lost you as a friend.

So my question is this. Why cut this scene? I don't get it. To me, it is such an important resolution of the night before and really sheds light early in the series as to Angela's personal insecurity (despite her professional success).
What I decided was that UPN just needed a few more seconds to fit in a particular commercial. I can't come up with another reason for leaving in all the rest of the sexual content of this scene and cutting just those lines. I considered that they thought Angela was portrayed as weak in this scene and cut it for that reason, but decided they didn't likely analyze things to this detail.
No matter the reason it was cut, I think it's an important exchange between T&A and I'm so happy to have a place on the forum to discuss it. Thanks Jason!

Here is another scene from First Kiss, missing in the UPN version. It explains Jeff's presence a little better, as well as completes the scene where Tony and Jeff are drinking on the State of Connecticut.
Tony:Tony: Hey Jeff! (Tony tosses ball to Jeff, catching Jeff off-guard) Ooh good hands, good hands. No wonder we buried you today.
Jeff:Yeah? Well, next week, Micelli, we go One on One. But I've got to warn you...I played varsity at Amhurst.
Tony: (making fun of the Ivy League) Woo Woo, Amhurst. How many other girls were on the team?! (laughs to himself)
(Policeman enters, gentleman significantly older than Tony and Jeff)
Police: Excuse me gentlemen.
Jeff: (sings) Dum da dum dum
Police: We need a couple of guys to do some drinking for us. How ‘bout it?
Tony: Don’t say a word, Jeff, I think this is entrapment.
Police: No. We’re demonstrating to the local teens the effects of drinking on driving. Now, we're gonna be using a simulator and we need a couple of over 21 volunteers.
Tony: Oh yeah? (to Jeff) You got your ID? (to the Policeman, acting very macho) Hey listen Officer, I'd like to help you but, you know, I wouldn't be any good. I don't get drunk too easy. (bounces the basketball off his bicep, as punctuation). I'm from Brooklyn. But, uh, if you're serving Pink Ladies, why don't you try him (looks at Jeff). He's from Amhurst! (laughs at his own joke)
Jeff: I could drink you under the table with my jaw wired shut!
Tony: You could drink me under the table?
Jeff: Yeah!
Tony: Let me tell you something. If I didn't have to drive home, I'd make you "drink" your words!
Jeff: (about Tony's play on words) Oh that's hysterical.
Tony: "Drink" your words, "drink" your words, you like that?
Police: Hey, hey, how about both of you do it? We'll arrange for your transportation home.
Tony: Oh yeah, how much are the drinks?
Police: Why, they’re on the state of Connecticut.
Tony (joking): Does the governor know about this?
(then the scene with Angela and her girlfriends picks up, then it comes back to Tony and Jeff at the Y, and the first little bit is cut out)
Jeff is walking the line at the Y (like Tony does in the scene we see). Jeff is really pathetically drunk. Can't walk the line straight at all.
Tony: (the teens are all laughing at Jeff) Don't look down Jeff, don't look down!
Police: Jeff has had four drinks, which means that his blood alcohol level is .09%. Technically...
Jeff: Woah! (falls over onto the floor, completely drunk)
Police: ...he's STILL legal. But as you can see, his motor skills are calling it quits.
Tony: (to the Teens) Nobody should drink and drive, but this guy shouldn't even drink and walk!
Police: (motioning for Tony to take his turn walking the line) Tony?
Tony: Me? I thought you'd never ask! (Tony hops up elegantly and walks the line with ease)
Police: Now after 5 drinks, Tony's blood alcohol is .12%. Legally drunk in all 50 states. (Tony is doing all kinds of antics showing that his motor skills are in tact.) Now at these levels, personality and behavior changes can occur. Inhibitions are lowered, a person becomes over confident (Tony does a split and pops right back up) even cocky.
Jeff: Nah, he’s always like that!
Tony: Oh yeah? Watch this!
(Tony jumps and does an even bigger split, then goes to sit down and completely misses chair, proving the officer's point)

In this scene, I do think UPN was making an edit based on content rather than the need for extra commercial space. What do you think?
