View Full Version : Let's Break a Record!!

Hey, all! I noticed on the first page of the Message Forums, it says "Most users ever online was 382, 05-17-2005 at 07:36 AM"...what if we all collaborated and tried to beat that record? I think it would really neat to see if we could do that! And also in a way it would kind of be like a big gathering or something. I don't know, it was just an idea I had. So what does everybody think?

I want to know what was happening that day that everyone was online? Was that the day of the reunion show?

I wanted to know that too, and I asked once:

Just Curious... (http://forums.wtbr.com/showthread.php?t=4242)

Yeah, let's go for it - but set the date to coincide with something that's significant with the site -

Sounds like fun to me...can we get a rolling ICQ chat going?

I always assumed that was the day of the WTB reunion. Guess not.

I'm always down to break a record. :P

I'd answer this except I don't know what it means...

ICQ is a messenger, like Yahoo, MSN or AIM.

That sounds like a wonderful idea, but everyone is on different timezones:(

I'm one who feels that even though it would be fun, I'd be against it, because the record wouldn't come naturally.

09-14-2008, 08:20 AM
I see your point, but records are rarely natural. Most records are carefully planned and executed... biggest paella in the world... largest chocolate drop... highest Lego tower etc etc etc.

I think it sounds like fun- I'm in.
We could look at this as a possibility to really see who is around and active and to have a little online party :-)

:D That would be nice. Sounds like fun. I don't mind staying up late.

09-15-2008, 10:43 AM
I don't have records anymore. I only have cassette tapes and CD's. :P

09-15-2008, 10:53 AM

I'm in!

:unsure:How could you break the record when the active member count is only one third of the amount of members that it would take to break the record?

09-16-2008, 11:52 PM
 I had thought about that too Listner, and it's users that count, not members. So if we were to seriously think of doing something like this, we'd probably have to do some research and see if we could figure out when spiders come out from the search engines then choose a time when the most are on the site (if it's even possible to know that!). Then we'd have to post way ahead and remind everyone and ask every guest who visits the site and sees the idea to participate. Then we'd have to ask every person we know to log on at that time and I still don't know if it would be even nearly enough. Then...*big breath*...we'd have to hope we don't crash the site.
I hate to be a party pooper but I just don't know if it's worth all that...particularly running any risk of crashing, to break a record that really wasn't even a record to begin with.

09-17-2008, 01:22 AM
Oh I see what you mean, Eileen. We wouldn't want to crash the site. Jason would kill us.

09-17-2008, 03:46 AM
Good point...

09-17-2008, 06:47 AM
If we crashed the site....we would all kill us....this 'place' helps me keep my sanity, for real!:D
