Holiday Movies

As I sit watching Christmas Vacation for the second time this evening, I was wondering if any one you have favorite holiday films?

The Bishop's Wife is also one of my favorites.

"Christmas Vacation" is definitely one of my favorites! It's just one of those movies that never gets old no matter how many times I've seen it. I also love "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.

I'm not a huge fan of Christmas movies or Chistmas for that matter but the movies I tend to watch every year without fail is Muppet Christmas Carol (that's my favorite), Christmas Vacation and Home Alone. Oh! and the Grinch cause it's about me!

My favorite Christmas movie ever is Elf. I'm in love with this time of year and have been listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies for the last few weeks. I just watched my favorite terribly made Christmas movie that I've liked since I was a kid, Christmas List with Mimi Rogers. It's really terrible, but I love it. I also love The Bishop's Wife and It's A Wonderful Life.

I randomly discovered today that Katherine Helmond made a Christmas movie with Cicely Tyson in the 90s called Ms. Scrooge - anybody ever see that one? I don't remember it at all.

Yes, that's a great one too - add that to my list! Maple syrup, anyone?

The Sound of Music
It's actually not that common in Germany and Austria (still issues with Nazi times ) but since I live abroad I've come to love it. So I'mjust watching in on DVD

And in Germany we usually have "Sissi" on (3 part movie of Empress Elisabeth of Austra and Hungary).

The most classic one is probably "3 Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel" which is an old German-Czech version of Cinderella (she gets 3 hazelnuts which make her a hunter - where she meets the prince - then give her the dress - for the ball - and then her wedding dress - when the prince comes with her shoe).

And then we usually have "Little Lord Fauntleroy" on and lots of fairy tales.
